Sopers at Seminary

James & Amy Soper are studying at RTS Orlando.. They plan to return to the UK to with James serving as an assistant pastor in an FIEC church.

Amy and I are now aiming to graduate in May 2028. This is a year later than originally planned - [this is to}…give Amy more time to complete her Masters of Theological Studies. In order to make this work, both Amy and I are taking up paid positions at Orlando Grace Church, which will pay for most of our final year. Amy has been working as the Assistant Children’s worker for several months now.

I am looking to begin a pastoral residency in October. This is a really exciting opportunity. I will be working 30h per week with the church, leaving me enough time to complete my degree by May 2028. I will be doing more preaching and teaching, as well as pastoral work. The role is designed for students who are towards the end of their seminary studies, giving them practical ministry experience. In addition to this, pastoral residents are often considered by the church for eldership.
